Good Morning!
I’m back today with a new playlist. I took some time off from blogging because my brother-in-law tragically died unexpectedly. It has been a rough week and half since his death, but I’m trying to return to some sort of normalcy and that includes resuming my blog which I love to do.
My little brother-in-law, Jake, was so lovable and fun to be around. I remember when I first started blogging just over year ago, he was one of the first people to tell me that he liked my blog and thought I was doing a great job. He was just always such a positive person and I know he would want me to just keep on going.
He also really loved music. Probably 7 years ago I remember him first telling me and my husband that he was serious about singing and had recorded some songs with a friend of his. We were both like whaaat and started laughing, but then Jake played one of the songs and I was totally like WOW, this is good! It was a cover of “I’m On One” by DJ Khaled and I still have it on my decade old iPod and listen to it when I workout! And I honestly like his version better!
Jake continued to record songs with his friend and last year they released a few songs to that you could download off of iTunes under their group name, Last Automne. I bought them all right away and loved them! (Well, except for “F*** The Summer Up”, which is super catchy but it’s not my style to use the f*word in such a fluid manner!)
So in Jake’s honor, today I’m sharing a playlist with his latest songs and a few others that either just make me think of him or make me think of him because I know he recorded covers of them. There are a few other songs from his group that you can listen to and play on their website here.
