Hi Friends!!!

Today I am sharing a recipe featuring the other white meat, AKA pork. I personally love all pig products and I’m talking pork chops, ham, hot dogs (this is mostly pig, right?!?!), bacon, sausage, etc. I suppose I am a total carnivore! One thing I have noticed in my adult life is how many people have either: a. never eaten pork (and not for religious reasons), b. claim to dislike it, or c. just flat-out don’t want to try it. It seems like a lot of people didn’t grow up eating pork regularly and therefore, don’t really want to try it. I know it’s kind of strange to just start eating something that you never grew up with, but pork chops are seriously good stuff and y’all are missing out! I also think there is maybe a lack of delicious pork chops recipes circulating on the internet, so today I am sharing one of my favorite (and easiest) dinners that I make using pork chops!

I grew up eating a wide variety of dinners and this was one of the ways that my mom would cook pork chops. The tomato soup and Worcestershire flavor combine to make a delicious, mouth-watering sauce. This meal also smells so good while cooking, I used to love to come home and realize this was for dinner! We always used a large electric skillet to make this meal, but you could use a large frying pan if you were making a smaller amount of food.

I hope you enjoy! I’ve never known this recipe to really have a name so I am just going to call it Pork Chop Surprise since that sounds fun! 🙂

Pork Chop Surprise Recipe

Ingredients:

4 bone-in pork chops

Lowry’s seasoning salt

salt

pepper

1 can Campbell’s tomato soup

1/2 can – 1 can water (use the Campbell’s soup can)

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1-2 lbs. peeled & cut up white potatoes

1 bag carrots, peeled & cut up

4-5 small onions

Got my seasonings all ready!

Directions:

1. Peel and cut up potatoes, carrots, and onions.

2. Season pork chops on both sides with salt, pepper, and Lowry’s seasoning salt.

3. Add some butter to an electric frying pan and sear both sides of the pork chops.

3. Drain fat if needed.

4. Add the can of tomato soup and about 3/4 can of water and mix.

5. Add the cut up potatoes, carrots, and onions to the pork chops. Mix around.

6. Add the Worcestershire sauce and mix.

I remembered shortly after this that I forgot to add in onions and quickly did a rough chop of a few yellow onions and threw in! I also added a pinch more salt and pepper to the whole dish.

7. Add the lid and let simmer for 25-30 minutes.

*Check periodically to make sure the pork chops aren’t sticking and that everything is cooking nicely.

8. I cooked mine for roughly 30 minutes and this was the finished product!

9. Plate & Enjoy!

That’s it! It’s really a simple and delicious dish! You can also change up the amount of vegetables if you don’t want as many as I had. The less vegetables then the more sauce you will have, which is really the best part! I would also stick with bone-in pork chops for this recipe. You want a thicker chop (which will take longer to cook,) since the vegetables won’t be done for roughly half an hour. I think boneless chops would cook too quickly and end up being very dry in this situation.

Do you enjoy pork chops as much as I do? Let me know in the comments!
