Hi All!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Now that Thanksgiving is over, we are officially into Christmas season! This means that now it is socially acceptable to play Christmas music – although I’m a Christmas junkie and have been listening for quite a few weeks! So to start the Christmas season off right for my weekly playlist I am sharing a holiday edition of some of my favorite Christmas songs in random order!

Week 7 Playlist: Favorite Christmas Songs

  1. “White Christmas” Bing Crosby
  2. “Oh Santa!” Mariah Carey
  3. “Feel This Christmas” In Real Life
  4. “Mistletoe” Justin Beiber
  5. “This Gift” 98 Degrees
  6. “Blue Christmas” Elvis Presley
  7. “Holly Jolly Christmas” Burl Ives
  8. “Merry Christmas Darling” The Carpenters
  9. “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” *NSYNC
  10. “Last Christmas” Wham!
  11. “Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24 (Instrumental)” Trans-Siberian Orchestra
  12. “This Christmas” Donny Hathaway

Now that I’m reading this over, I clearly love boy bands singing holiday tunes! The only song on here that I think a lot of people won’t know is “Feel This Christmas.” In Real Life was a group that formed after an ABC singing competition show in the spring of 2017.  They came out with this song last year and I think it’s so good! If you also like cheesy melodies of boy bands, then you will definitely like this song!

The only other side note I have is about “Oh Santa!” I think everyone knows “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. “Oh Santa” is definitely no where near as popular but I like it a little bit better because it’s so peppy! It will put any scrooge in a good mood!

Do you like my list? Let me know what your favorite Christmas songs are in the comments!

I like the instrumental “Sleighride” by the Boston Pops because it has the clip-clop of the horse’s hooves and a whinny at the end! For pure hokiness I like “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer!” And Mr. Damaso will be disappointed that you didn’t include “12 Days of Christmas!” I also like the traditional hymns like “Silent Night.” There are some lesser known ones that are really beautiful!

You are correct! There really are so many good Christmas songs that aren’t very popular! I also like “Dominick the Donkey!” Personally, I like the “12 Pains of Christmas” better than the “12 Days of Christmas!” teheehee I will be posting another playlist with a few more songs not this upcoming weekend, but the one after!

  2. Here Comes Santa Claus by Elvis is also excellent! I mean really what can’t the man sing. Also, I know you aren’t super country but check out Willie Nelson and Kacey Musgraves for Christmas tunes. And Bare Naked Ladies God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I need to check Sirius for the holiday stations! I know Holly is 4 but there must be others!

Wow, I had no idea you were familiar with Christmas tunes by these artists! I will have to check them out. Thanks for the tip!
