To help make your week a little brighter, I’m posting a new playlist! This week’s is comprised of songs from 2015 – today.
Because I’m so stuck in the early 2000s, this was actually a little hard for me to create at first! lol But then I got into a groove and started remembering songs from not so long ago to add. I ended up with 17 songs! I normally just post 12 per playlist, but I couldn’t decide which to cut so I just kept them all! I hope you enjoy 🙂 As always you can check out all of my other playlists on Spotify here.
I hope everyone had a HOT fun-filled weekend! This weather has been bananas.
Anyway, today I’m back with a new playlist and I decided to pay tribute to some of my all-time favorite one-hit wonders from the 90s and 2000s~!
Week 25 Playlist: My Favorite One-Hit Wonders
1. How Bizarre – OMC
2. I Wish – Skee-Lo
3. Baby Got Back – Sir Mix-A-Lot
4. I Got A Man – Positive K
5. Groove Is in the Heart – Deee-Lite
6. Tubthumping – Chumbawamba
7. Your Woman – White Town
8. All The Things She Said – t.A.T.u.
9. Rumors – Lindsay Lohan
10. Laffy Taffy – D4L
11. Who Let The Dogs Out – Baha Men
12. Hit ‘Em Up Style – Blu Cantrell
13. Mambo No. 5 – Lou Bega
14. Teach Me How to Dougie – Cali Swag District
I like all of these songs even though most of them are pretty dumb (re: girl, shake that laffy taffy), but my favorite is probably “I Wish”. It’s so catchy and shoutout to all the short guys out there who wish to be taller! Life is tough when you ain’t that tall as a guy. Women can overlook a lot of things when a guy is over 6 feet, sadly!
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! The weather was awesome 🙂
I know it’s always really rough to go back to work after a long weekend, so today I have made an extra heart pumping, body shakin’ playlist! It’s chock full of upbeat songs from the late 2000s and it’s sure to make you move a little faster or at least dance a little at your desk! 😉
Week 19 Playlist: Late 2000s Mixx
1. Turn My Swag On – Soulja Boy
2. Sexy Can I – Ray J Ft. Yung Berg
3. A Bay Bay – Hurricane Chris
4. Flashing Lights – Kayne West
5. The Way I Are – Timbaland, Keri Hilson, D.O.E.
6. This Is Why I’m Hot – MiMS
7. Party Like A Rock Star – Shop Boyz
8. Do You Remember – Jay Sean, Sean Paul, Lil’ Wayne
9. Mrs. Officer – Lil’ Wayne, Bobby Valentino, Kidd Kidd
10. Best I Ever Had – Drake
11. Shut Up And Drive – Rihanna
12. Love in This Club, Pt. II – Usher, Beyonce, & Lil’ Wayne
It’s an extra long playlist because I love this time period and had a hard time narrowing down songs. Also, it’s an extra rough Tuesday and more music is necessary!
I took a few days off from blogging because I have had an awful cold. I think the worst of it is behind me, but it really wore me out! This will probably be a light week of blog posts because I typically do a lot of blog research and work over the weekend and this past weekend I was pretty much in bed or up blowing my nose and coughing!
Since I am feeling a little better, I decided to post a springtime playlist. I knew I wanted to celebrate the beginning of spring, but the question was how? I first started thinking of songs about the sun and other springtime ideas like feeling free, but there wasn’t a huge selection. So I added in a few other songs that I just love and make me and I think(?) the vast majority of others happy!
I did the song order mostly from newest to oldest released. There are a few really old gems in here! Hope you enjoy!
In this playlist, I’m using this song as literally breaking down ice that’s still on the ground melting!
4. Suga Suga – Baby Bash & Frankie J
Just love this one, always.
5. Perfect Day – Hoku
It’s from Legally Blonde and I dare you to tell me that it doesn’t give you more pep in your step and make you feel that you can’t take on anything!
6. Butterfly – Crazy Town
One of my favorites and fits in perfectly with the spring theme!
7. Walkin’ On The Sun – Smash Mouth
I was literally soooo sick of this song for probably 15 years, because I felt like it was so played out. But in the past few years I have warmed back up to it.
8. Spring Love – Stevie B
Stevie B with the classic 80s dance hit crooning about springtime love.
9. Time of Our Lives – Pitfall & Ne-Yo
This might be my favorite Pitbull song and I actually love when he says in this song “But every day above ground is a good one, remember that.” I’m like “WOW, here’s Pitbull with some sound advice!” WHO KNEW?!
10. It Was A Good Day – Ice Cube
Classic song and every sunny day is a good day!
11. Blame It on the Rain – Milli Vanilli
Perfect excuse for this time of the year!! 🙂
12. It’s A Sunshine Day – The Brady Bunch
I’m a huge Brady Bunch fan and have probably seen every episode of the show and have seen most of the movies! One of my best friends in 7th grade had this CD and we would jump on her trampoline listening to it after school so this song brings back nothing but good, carefree memories!
