Hello All!
I hope everyone had a most enjoyable Thanksgiving with their loved ones! It’s Black Friday which means tons of shopping and sales! In preparation for all the shopping and sales, I am going to feature a couple of gift guides on my blog and today’s post is a Men’s Gift Guide!
Let me first start by saying how much I LOVE presents. My love language is definitely gifts and because of this, I typically put a lot of thought into most people’s presents. If I care about you, then I’ve definitely thought what to purchase for you! With that being said, I put a lot of thought into this gift guide so let me know what you think in the comments!
I’ve chosen today to start with a men’s gift guide because I think they can be super tricky to buy for. Whether it’s your dad, husband, uncle, male coworker, boyfriend, etc., it can be tough. And in the case of it being your significant other it is not necessarily that you can’t figure out what to buy, but rather how much to spend. Depending on how long you have been dating, this can be really hard. There aren’t too many worse dating situations than an awkward gift exchange where you spent $250 on your boyfriend, only to receive a $30 gift in return. Ouch. This is why it’s very important to drop subtle hints (or sometimes not so subtle hints!) well before the holidays to make sure you are both on the same page with how much to spend. So with this in mind, I’ve created a three tiered gift guide based on gift budget.
First let’s begin with Gifts under $50. The beginner step for men’s gifts. Maybe you’ve only been dating a couple of months or you got a random male coworker in a gift swap at work, or you got your uncle in the family secret santa. Whatever the case may be, if you don’t want to spend too much money then I’ve got some ideas for you!
Following the numbers in the collage above:
1. Kiel’s Gift Set $30.00
I’ve spoken before about how much I like Kiehl’s products and I think they make great gifts for men as well. Their packaging is pretty basic and neutral looking and this men’s gift set is perfect for the guy who is into taking care of his skin or the one that you wish would actually take a little better care of his skin. lol. And no one likes dry, flaky skin!
10. Patriots Dress Socks $12.99
Ok, if you know that the guy you are purchasing for is into the Patriots then you can literally find ANYTHING with the Patriots logo stamped across it. Heck, I even found Patriots suspenders! This isn’t the most meaningful gift, but it’s great for swaps or just a casual small gift for someone. Who couldn’t use a fresh pair of socks?!
7. Yeti Rambler Tumbler $29.99 For customization add an extra $10.00
I don’t own one of these myself, but I know a few people who do and they seem pretty great. They keep drinks both hot and cold for hours and hours and the stainless steel that it’s made out of seems pretty indestructible. There are a variety of colors to choose from and they offer tons of cute symbols and monogramming to customize it.
4. Lands End Mens Flannel Collar Quarter-Zip Mock Pullover $59.95
Retails for $59.95, but with all the holiday sales going on there’s no way you’ll pay that price for it, and it will definitely be under $50. Clothing is usually a safe bet for most guys and this is a GREAT way to get your man to dress more like how you want them to dress! Once they wear what you’ve purchased them, just keep complimenting how good they look in it and it’s game over! I love the hint of plaid in this pullover but it is also offered without the flannel collar here.
8. Banana Republic Scarf $59.50
You really can’t go wrong with a Banana Republic plaid scarf and thanks to global warming this winter is supposed to be doozy! A scarf you will need, indeed! $59.50?! I think not. I’m sure you can get this for half off between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
3. J.Crew Cotton Crewneck Sweater $49.50
I know, I know. Putting a sweater on a gift guide is very generic. I totally agree. But, let’s face it. Most guys can be pretty boring in the wardrobe department and actually do NEED new sweaters. Most guys do not update their sweaters and are wearing the same old ones from 10 plus years ago. The one that I’ve linked is a wardrobe staple – a basic sweater that comes in a variety of colors that I’m sure your man could use. (Or brother, relative, etc.)
Tier 2: The following gifts are all under $150!
13. & 14. Vineyard Vines Carleton Gingham Classic Fit Tucker Shirt and Vineyard Vines Riverbank Plaid Slim Murray Shirt Both are $98.50 – Get 25% off currently with code HOLIDAY18
Quality made dress shirt in classic prints. Perfect for the working man.
11. Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker $99.00 *Currently 30% off for $69.00!*
It seems to me that most men are fairly into electronics and gadgets so I’m thinking this little Bose speaker would make for a terrific gift for the guy who loves pumping his tunes.
9. Celtics Pullover $75.00
To be honest, I totally like this for myself. It looks so comfy and I love anything with heather grey in it. This is another good tip: buy something for your boyfriend that you don’t mind wearing in a pinch! *Side note: I just looked this item up and it’s already sold out in a couple of sizes 🙁 so snag it quick if you can! I also like pullover and sweatshirt as well.
15. J.Crew Cashmere Striped Sweater $120
A step up from the basic sweater featured in the first tier in terms of both style and material quality. Get it to show a little extra love.
Tier 3: The Big Spender Category – Gifts over $150! For when you want to tell someone that you REALLY love them.
Apple Air Pods $159.00
Wireless headphones seem like a gift most anyone would appreciate, even me! I actually have these on my Christmas list. They look so indiscreet and convenient. And unless the gift recipient has weird shaped ear canals or is one of those anti-Apple product people, then this should be a great gift.
Patagonia Nano Puff Coat $199.00
I wore the women’s version of this coat in my last outfit post. It’s such a great little coat! Low on bulk and high on warmth! And isn’t the green color so nice and such a good change from the usual black or navy men’s coat colors?! A++++ If you don’t want to do a coat then this fleece vest looks quite cozy!
Daniel Wellington Watch $249.00
Watches make a great gift because most men could use one and they just spruce up an outfit! Daniel Wellington watches are known for their simplicity and classic style. I think most guys would like and appreciate a timepiece like this one. The one linked is from Nordstrom.com, but the Daniel Wellington website is running 50% off a few different collections for Black Friday/Cyber Monday and there are some really awesome deals!
Gucci Watch $495.00
Ok- this one is really reserved for the man who is slightly flashy and appreciates the finer things in life! And it’s also reserved for when you want to make it clear as day that you are totally in love with someone. “Like I just spent $500 on a Gucci watch for you, ok!” haha. It’s also available in white here.
I hope you enjoyed my gift guide! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I will be posting another one for women next!
Happy Shopping Everyone!
