Christmas Sweaters

Happy December!

To kick off the month, today I wanted to discuss Christmas sweaters and my thoughts on them.

I personally LOVE a good Christmas sweater. By that, I mean the cute, somewhat tacky ones that have a little pom-pom or a little bell, etc. on it like the one I’m wearing in the above pic. I think in recent years the trend has really gone bananas shifted and most stores sell these over the top, garish sweaters because of all the ugly Christmas sweater parties and I actually HATE them. In addition to being extra ugly and in some cases, mildly inappropriate, these over the top sweaters are usually pretty pricey. I’ve seen more than a few going for $50 – $60 which is really outrageous considering you cannot wash a sweater with a million embellishments on it and are going to wear it once or twice in your lifetime. I’m totally over ugly Christmas sweater parties at this point. They are totally 2013. I would like to make a motion to move on back to just wearing cute Christmas sweaters and not trying to hot glue a little stuffed kitty wearing a Santa hat, then dousing the whole thing in glitter to an old black sweater you randomly found in order to win some lame party contest!

So with that mini rant being said, today I am sharing some festive sweaters that I think are both cute and fairly tasteful at the same time. If want to go all out with a fun holiday sweater then great, and if you don’t, then that’s fine too. Some people just aren’t into it – but maybe at least wear something red or green!
