Back to the grind – but at least 4th of July is this week! Whoot Whoot
For this week’s playlist I went with an all slow song mix from the 90s! Some soothing sounds to start your work week off 🙂
Half of these songs I feel like I always hear at the dentist…like 90s soft music is ALWAYS playing. But I don’t mind at all~!
The blog post title is really what I would think in my head every time a slow song came on at a school dance growing up… like OMG! Panic! Good times, though 😉
A few weeks back I had posted an 80s playlist comprised of all 80s hits by male singers or groups. I had meant to post an all female 80s playlist shortly thereafter, but got all wrapped up in the 2000s era for a while and forgot about it.
I was reminded of it this week when I was watching RoNY (The Real Housewives of New York) and they did a throwback 80s aerobics class in the most recent episode. It looked so fun & jogged my memory, so I set out to do my all female singers & groups of the 80s playlist!
Enjoy!
Week 22: Favorite 80s Songs – Part 2
1. I Think We’re Alone Now – Tiffany
2. Escapade – Janet Jackson
3. Burning Up – Madonna
4. Manic Monday – The Bangles
5. I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) – Whitney Houston
So last week I took a quick break from the playlists, but this week I am back with a new one! Since summer officially begins this week, I am kicking off the season with an all fun in the sun playlist!
Basically it’s all cheesy songs about summer or the sun! 😉
Today I wanted to chat about my love for the month of June. It’s such a great month for a variety of reasons, but also because at the end of the month it’s my birthday!!
I love birthdays and more importantly, I love presents! 🙂
My whole reason for blogging was really to create a fun space where I could showcase everything that I want and love so today I am sharing some wishlist items that I have for my birthday!
For most of my life I would always ask for some normal, reasonably priced items for my birthday, but I would also add some real high priced or long shot items that I figured I would NEVER get, but I would ascribe to “ask and you shall receive” and add it anyway.
My parents would always read my birthday lists and quickly roll their eyes and then say something like “Holly, you’ve GOT to be kidding me. I am NOT buying you XYZ. Dream on.” Eventually it became kind of a joke and I would add what ever ridiculous items I wanted just because I knew they would say something about it. It’s fun to me and I still like making birthday lists! So even though I am turning a ridiculously old age, I am still making one and sharing it here!
Michele Watch – I’ve wanted a Michele watch for years. The one I really want is roughly $2500 – eeeek! This white one looks perfect for the summer and is a fraction of the price at $395! A steal, really! 😉
Pure Silk Pillowcase – Another item that I’ve wanted for years! These Slip silk pillowcases always get rave reviews and they have come out with some new colors. This fun pink and white striped one is perfection!
David Yurman Bracelet– I’ve been lusting over most David Yurman jewelry for roughly 10 years now. I love his classic cable pieces like this bracelet!
Birthday Treat Box– I recently discovered that you can order a birthday box from Little Debbie!!! This box looks scrumptious!! It comes with party essentials like hats and confetti. BUT the best part is all of these delicious little goodies you get – cupcakes, zebra cakes, and birthday cakes!! And it’s only $25 and it ships for free!!
Steve Madden Feather Loafer– These Steve Madden loafers are so comfortable, so cute and go with nearly every outfit. I’ll take a pair in every color plz!!
Taco Bell Sweatshirt – The Taco Bell instagram account is life! I started following them and discovered that they sell all of this great merchandise! This sweatshirt is my fav because it looks so cozy and I love the old school vintage bell!
Air Max2 Sneaker– I love Nike Air Max sneakers for the little extra lift they provide! I like this pair because of the 90s primary colors they have used, but the picture in my collage doesn’t really do them justice. Click on the link to see how fun they are!
Frappachino – One of my most favorite hobbies is finding birthday freebies and deals. I’m one of those people who will sign up for anything for something free so my inbox is jamming with random emails from 8 million places. And it doesn’t bother me that currently my inbox shows 113,546 unread emails. lol During June I search for all birthday related emails and put all of them in a separate folder so that I make sure I don’t miss out on any good birthday deals!
One of my favorite birthday deals is that Starbucks gives you a free drink of any size! To get the biggest value out of the deal, always order the the most expensive menu item. Last year I ordered a venti sized caramel ribbon crunch frappachino with a shot of espresso and it was something ridiculous like $8, but I got it for free!
Starbucks has really cut down on this perk though, and you can only get it if you have a registered Starbucks card and have made a purchase on it in the past year. Supposedly they send you an email two days before your birthday to redeem, but I’m pretty sure that last year I only saw it in my Starbucks app so make sure that it is up to date! It’s also ONLY valid on your birthday which is annoying, but worth it and I will go waayyy out of my way to get it!
Eye Shadow Palette – I could use a new eye shadow palette and the colors on this one look beautiful. It’s by MAC and is a special Aladdin collection palette! MAC makes some of my favorite eye shadows that I use everyday so I would love to try this one out. And it’s 15% off right now with code FRIEND at Macys!
So that’s it! It’s kind of a random list but that’s what birthday wish lists are for!
I’m going to be sharing my favorite birthday freebies on Instagram and in my Instagram stories so be sure to follow along so that you don’t miss out on any deals when it is your birthday!
My playlists from the past few weeks have been covering some of the best hits from the 2000s. Last week I said I was wrapping up the 2000s, but today I am REALLY wrapping up that decade with one final playlist comprised of all slow songs! I realized that most of my playlists are always upbeat songs, so I decided to pay homage to some of the best slow songs from that decade with one final playlist. It’s almost twice as long as my usual playlists since I had a whole decade of slow songs to work with!
I hope you enjoy!

It’s an extra long playlist because I love this time period and had a hard time narrowing down songs. Also, it’s an extra rough Tuesday and more music is necessary!
I’m back with the weekly playlist and I’m going back to finish out the early 2000s. This playlist is mostly comprised of R&B songs, but I did add in a few others like “Heaven” and some songs by early 2000s Disney Channel stars!

For this week’s playlist I decided to go back to the 80s and share some of my favorite 80s songs! It just so happens that I ended up with all songs by either male artists or all male groups. The next time I do an 80s playlist, I will have to do an all female version!
My blog post title is a nod to when VH1ran the series I Love The 80s and then followed that up with I Love The 90s and I Love the 2000s. I loved every episode of those little mini series! The mix of old clips from TV, movies, and general pop culture mixed in with celebrity commentary was so good! I wish they would air it again. Since they haven’t yet, I can get my fix online as most episodes do seem to be on YouTube!
Onto my playlist!
Week 16 Playlist: Favorite 80s Songs – Male Edition
1. Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N’ Roses
2. Karma Chameleon – Culture Club
3. Take on Me – a-ha
4. Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
5. Keep On Loving You – REO Speedwagon
6. Don’t Dream It’s Over – Crowded House
7. Come On Eileen – Dexys Midnight Runners
8. Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ – Michael Jackson
9. Addicted to Love – Robert Palmer
10. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go – Wham!
11. Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley
12. Never Say Goodbye – Bon Jovi
What is your favorite 80s song?! My favorite from this list is definitely Sweet Child O’ Mine. It’s a little surprising to me how much I love that song in general, not just as an 80s favorite song. I love everything about it from the lyrics, to the rifts, to the passion in Axl Rose’s voice. I think it’s amazing!!
I decided for this week’s playlist to do a mix in honor of it being nearly 11 years(!!!) ago that I graduated from college. All of these gems are from 2003 – 2008.
Week 15 Playlist:The College Boom Boom Mix
1. Suga Suga – Baby Bash & Frankie J
Any song with Frankie J is amazing!! Voice of an angel!
2. Yeah! – Usher, Lil Jon, & Ludacris
Ok – I’m ready for the club! Where is my Bacardi Razz??!
3. Toxic – Britney Spears
4. Your Love – The Outfield
I know this is actually an old song, but I don’t think I ever really heard it until I went to college. And then I literally heard it EVERYWHERE. Bars, restaurants, someone’s dorm room, etc. – it was always on.
5. Slow Jamz – Twista, Kayne West, & Jamie Foxx
6. Float On – Modest Mouse
7. You – Lloyd & Lil Wayne
I was obsessed with this song & Lloyd! The remix with Outkast is also soooo good!
8. Your Body – Pretty Ricky
It’s really hard to top Pretty Ricky in terms of group name and song lyrics. I mean “hotter than a bisquick biscuit out the oven” ?!?!? Top quality song lyrics right there!! The BEST.
9. About Us – Brooke Hogan & Paul Wall
Remember the good old days of great reality shows on VH1??! I’m talking Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, The Surreal Life, & Hogan Knows Best. On Hogan Knows Best, Brooke was always trying to make it big as a singer and ended up releasing an album. She really was not a great singer, but this song was catchy!
10. Smack That – Akon & Eminem
Akon was living the good life back in the 2000s. Whatever happened to him??!?!
11. Promiscuous – Nelly Furtado & Timbaland
My homegirl! The Portuguese diva ♥
12. Love in This Club – Usher & Young Jeezy
13. Buy U a Drank (Shanty Snappin’) – T-Pain & Yung Joc
14. Anonymous – Bobby Valentino & Timbaland
I remember MTV had a dumb show called Once Upon a Prom where celebrities went to prom with, you know, some poor star-struck kid in New Jersey and anyway Bobby Valentino was in an episode and he was waaaay shorter than his prom date! MTV did him wrong! They couldn’t have pick some petite girl for the show?! #rude
