Gap is running a crazy good sale right now! Right now through 11/6, Gap is offering 40% off all orders (code: FFTIME) and 50% off all orders if you use your Gap/Old Navy/Banana Republic card (code: FFCARD) plus free shipping!!
So today I am rounding up my favorite items and wants currently up on Gap.com! All prices I have listed are after the 50% off promo.
Gap comes out with their crazy stripe collection every winter with a heavy focus on sweaters. Most years I really love the sweaters prints, but sadly that isn’t the case this year. It’s just ok – check it out here. But I do love these crazy stripe sweater leggings. I owed a similar pair a few years ago and they are so comfortable and warm.
OMG glitter heels!!! LOVE! I own these in the cheetah print and I can tell you that they are super comfortable and I would recommend sizing a half size down. They also come in plaid and black.
I have been eyeing this leopard sweater for months. It is cropped and I don’t always like that look on myself because I have a longer torso for my height. I ran into this issue last winter and I ended up ordering a Gap cropped sweater in a Tall size and I loved both the length and sleeve length – since if it’s 3/4 it ends up being longer in the taller length! Win-Win!
A bunch of items are also still available from my last post on Gap Favorites. You can view them here.
Hope everyone is doing well! I’ve been a little sick with a cold :/ but hopefully can kick it in a few days!
Today I am back posting reviews of three different style Hunter boots. Currently, I own the Original High Gloss Tall style in cranberry. I purchased these roughly six years ago and they are still in great condition. My only issue with them is how heavy and clunky they are, especially when trying to wear them for long periods of time. In addition, after I gave birth my feet shrunk down a size so my size 9 boots are really loose and feel heavier than ever.

I had been eyeing the packable style online for a while trying to find them on sale but I hadn’t had much luck. Since we are starting to get into the real cool, rainy, icky weather part of the year, I decided a couple of weeks ago to just bite the bullet and pay full price for them. As I was about to check out, I noticed two new styles that I also liked and wanted to try on. So I purchased three different styles to review!
Just an FYI:
They also recently came out with leopard print ones that are adorable, but I refrained from ordering!
So let’s get on to my pics and reviews!
First, the Hunter Original Play Tall Rain Boot. Available in several different colors (a few more different colors here at Zappos!) and retails for $110. I ordered these because I wanted to see if I liked that they were tall boots, but not as tall as the originals. I also thought the colors offered were very cute especially the green (called hyper green rubber) which is the one I ordered. Additonally, the little pull tag on the back of the boot adds a pop of flair and is really handy for taking these off since they are a pull off boot with no zipper. The boots arrived and I really loved the bright green color in person and the slight wedge on the sole of the boot. On, they do feel a little lighter than the originals, although they are still a little clunky. I ordered an 8 in these and they fit perfectly so the fit is more like a traditional Hunter boot where you size down since they don’t offer half sizes. The only thing I didn’t love about these was where they hit on my leg which was about halfway between my foot and knee. It kind of cut my leg off at a weird spot that I didn’t find flattering. Overall, I think they would make for a fun extra pair to have around if you already owned a neutral color in the tall ones, but I wouldn’t keep them as my main pair of rain boots.

Second, the Hunter Original Refined Rain Boot. I loved the look of this boot since it really just looks more like a traditional boot rather than a rain boot. It comes in a few colors and retail for $120-$175. The feel of it is much studier than the classic rain boot, although there is a still a little bit of clunkiness to them. I wish these came in half sizes because I ordered the 8 which fit but was a touch snug and a 9 would definitely be too big, so an 8.5 would probably be the best fit. These also come up a little higher than the classic boot so I would say they are better suited for taller women. Originally, I did like the look of this boot out of the box and on myself, although I thought they came up maybe a tad too high for my height (5’5″). The next day my sister was over and since we have a similar shoe size, I had her model all of these boots for me and even though she is taller than me, I did not like this pair on her at all! The whole look on her really kept reminding me of a Red Coat (aka a British soldier circa the Revolutionary War) and all I kept hearing was “Yankee Doodle” in my head and I kept envisioning Mel Gibson in The Patriot. Lol. So I was on the fence after I tried them on but after seeing her in them I decided I wouldn’t keep these! I think they could work on a lot of women, but personally I didn’t love the look.

Last, are the Hunter Tour Packable Rain Boots. I ordered these in black since I wanted to get a neutral pair to wear with anything. They retail for $150 and I have seen them offered in a few different neutral colors but not typically anything super bright colored. (I did find them in a bright pink on Amazon, but only in small sizes!) These look identical to the original boots that I currently own, but once I put them on the feel was incredibly different. These really are so much lighter and easier to walk in than the originals. I think the height of the boot shaft is also the most flattering out of the three as it hits just below the knee. I definitely felt that I could wear these all day and not feel overwhelmed by the heaviness of the boot. Overall I liked these the best out of the three that I ordered and I definitely liked them more than my original, traditional pair. They also are really flexible and fold up very easily for portability. In the end, I kept this pair!
Hunter Tour Packable Rain Boots in Black
The only thing I wished that Hunter offered was more adjustable calf style boots. My calves are athletic so I can only wear skinny jeans or leggings with these boots. Unfortunately, Hunter only offers adjustable ones in the traditional style and not in the packable, at least for right now!
Do you own any Hunter boots? I think they are a great investment! Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Hope everyone is easing into the week nicely and enjoying the cooler weather. I love it because it reminds me that Christmas is coming soon! ♥
Also, one of my favorite reasons for really loving this time of the year is because I am plaid obsessed. I own tons of plaid and I can’t get enough. I told myself this year no new plaid shirts, butttttt we will see if I can make it through the winter season without that happening! 😉
So I was planning on creating a plaid collage of my recent favorite items, BUT I had to stop and do a real quick post of a new collection featuring the CUTEST plaid items at……JCPENNEY?! I hardly ever even think to shop there because department stores these days are really kind of passé. (RIP Sears) However, I happened to get an email alerting me of their latest collection called Peyton & Parker. The email showed some really cute plaid items so I clicked over to the site and took a look over the collection and quickly added over $100 worth of items to my cart and bought them all! OOPS 🙂 I’m so excited to get them and see how the quality is in person!
So let’s go over some really cute things that I think everyone would like to have for the fall & holiday season!
The Peyton & Parker collection features clothing items for women, men, kids, and babies. It also features home decor items as well!
**Right now, JCPenney is offering an extra 40% – 50% off select items with code 38FORYOU through 10/25. There is always some online coupon code going on so I’m certain you will never pay full price for these items, it’s just hoping that get the cheapest price possible with the best code!
And now onto my favorites:
First, for the home:
I instantly fell in love with the mugs and plates! I love how the mugs come with a stand so that they can stay out on the counter and double as holiday decor. I really need a whole separate coffee bar station in my kitchen!
The pillows are all super cute and at really great prices! I ordered the plaid one and there is a matching throw blanket as well that is currently out of stock – which is awful because this collection just launched 2 days ago! However, you can sign up to get alerted when it is back in stock. I also ordered the sequin one for a lil’ extra holiday shimmer on my couch.
Womens, Mens, Kids, & Babies Clothing: (If you click on any of the images below, it will take you to the item on the JCP website.)

Isn’t everything so darling?! I would have totally bought the women’s navy plaid shirt, but I have a similar one already so I talked myself out of it real quick. I really like the men’s plaid shirts and I think every guy should own at least a few plaid items as I personally find the lumberjack look very becoming! And these prices really can’t be beat – $20 for a flannel shirt is very reasonable. A lot of these items would make great gifts as well!
That’s all I’ve got for now. Are you as plaid obsessed as me? Most people aren’t. Haha. But even if you aren’t, I think a touch or two of it in the cooler holiday months is really a necessity!
Helloooooo!! Hope everyone is doing well! I’m back with a post featuring one of my all time favorite prints that just won’t go away….. Leopard/Cheetah/Spots, etc. I’m so excited that year after year animal prints continue their dominance in fashion. It’s such a fun way to add some pizazz to any outfit and in my opinion, it’s universally flattering and transcends age. I’ve created a collage featuring some of my latest favorites and have linked them below. MeOw !
A leopard sweater is a must have !! I have one plus two cardigans but the leopard print always varies slightly so it’s good to have a few on hand, right?! 😉
I have had this phone case on my iPhone 7 Plus for nearly two years and it has not cracked through roughly 5,000 drops. Solid case, super cute print, and definitely worth the $45.
I think it’s obnoxious how expensive throw pillows are. Especially since most of the time you need to buy two! At least you can get 20% off at Bed, Bath, & Beyond if you purchase this one since they always have coupons!
I NEED these! I had a pair of leopard print heels years ago from Target that actually held up quite well and were really comfy. Since those bit the bullet a couple of years ago, I think it’s time to purchase a new sexy pair like these.
Ok, I have been dreaming about owning this blanket FOR YEARS. Doesn’t it just look Sooo Cozy?! I don’t know when I will actually get my hands on it, but I can keep dreaming. I mean it’s 180.00! It goes on sale down to maybe $140.00 for the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, but I can never get myself to buy it because I already buy so many other things during the sale. But the reviews are amazing and everyone says it’s worth it, so one day it’s gonna be mine!
Heading into scarf season!! This cute leopard one is a definite must have – Sole Society also has a cute one and Nordstrom Brand BP. offers this one for only $19!
I am here to share my latest favorites from Old Navy! I am planning on waiting to order until this weekend since most retailers typically offer really good sales for Labor Day Weekend. Today, they are only offering 20% off and that ends tonight. I am hoping that tomorrow they offer much more off for the long weekend!
1. Camo Tee ! Casual, comfortable tee in trendy camo print and currently only $7.50!
2. When it’s not 90 plus degrees, I LIVE in joggers like these. So comfy and cute!
3. It’s almost officially football season!!! Whoot Whoot! Time to freshen up the old home team sports apparel collection with a new tee!
4. I am a huge fan of the 80’s and 80’s fashion, so I am majorly lusting over all the new retro activewear pieces that Old Navy is offering lately such as this crazy striped sports bra. I’m praying it gets restocked in my size ASAP.
5. This maroon colored lightweight jacket just makes me yearn for crisp fall weather and fresh apple pie!
6. Who doesn’t love a blanket scarf?!?!?! I always keep one at work just in case I’m cold or feel like wearing a security blanket. 😉 I like how this one is still neutral but the mauve in it is a nice color addition.
7. This striped boyfriend sweatshirt is what weekend wear is made of. This sweatshirt, leggings, Ugg boots, pumpkin spice lattes, etc. #fallbasics YES
8. These black jeggings with the elastic waist I cannot say enough good things about. I worked for Old Navy part time for nearly 7 years and I can remember when we first got these in, everyone wanted a pair and for good reason. Since that time, I buy a new pair just about every year because I wear them at least once or twice a week. These are the perfect pant for just about anywhere that you want to be comfortable and still look put together. Black is the best color in these to have because you can wear them to work easily, heck, probably even to a funeral, and these are the perfect pants for holiday gatherings if you want to look a little more polished but still eat A TON since the elastic waist is very forgiving. A++++ by Old Navy on these
9. This belt is super cute and the black one reminds me a smidge of those Gucci belts you see on everyone. Since $450 seems a bit steep for a belt and I barely work, this one under $17 is still stylish and reasonably priced!
10. My most worn tank top of 2018 has got to be this Luxe Space Dye Tank. I’ve purchased a few of Old Navy’s Luxe line items and I have been pleased with all of them. The material is cool and comfortable plus this tank fits loosely without looking sloppy. The light grey color also goes with just about anything!
11. If I workout then I try to do it first thing early in the morning right after I wake up, so I literally am motivated to get through it in order to shower and get to my coffee! So naturally, this tank speaks to me!
I wanted to do a post featuring my Lancôme favorites since their Friends & Family sale is going on right now through Monday, August 27th. Receive 20% off all products plus free shipping using code FRIENDS 🙂
Below are my favorites that I use regularly and I feel are definitely worth full price, never mind on sale!
1. My all time favorite concealer is Lancôme Maquicomplet which is a full coverage concealer that I use to help combat these ridiculously dark circles under my eyes. I have tried TONS of concealers over the years and I always seem to come back to this one. I use the color Camee. Lancôme offers this in nearly 30 shades, so I am certain there is a color for every skin tone.
2. I have tried out several different moisturizers and Energie De Vie Day Cream is my current favorite. It smells sooooooo good, goes on easily, and is not a heavy cream. Naturally, my skin is super oily so I cannot use a real hydrating moisturizer unless it is the middle of winter. My summertime moisturizer is always a lightweight one and this one fits the bill.
3. I spent a lot of my younger years being tanorexic and although I don’t think my skin is totally horrible (yet), I am always trying out different serums and creams to keep my skin as youthful as possible. A couple of years ago I tried the Genifique Youth Activating Serum and used it twice a day religiously. I definitely saw an improvement in both fine lines and dark spots fading. It’s not something that I have purchase again and again as it is on the more expensive side, but on sale it is definitely a smart purchase.
4. This toner (Tonique Confort) has been a staple in my medicine cabinet for years! The light, floral smell is divine and I use it most mornings to help hydrate and moisturizer my skin after cleansing. If you are looking to add a toner to your beauty regiment this one is definitely worth buying.
5. A couple of years ago I ordered some Lancôme concealer and instead Nordstrom shipped me this Grandiose Extreme Mascara in a navy blue color! At first I was very annoyed, but after realizing that the prices were the same, I decided to keep it and try it out (I was really curious about the blue color.) Immediately after applying I was in love with how my eyelashes looked! I loved that it was a subtle hint of a different color rather than the basic black and the mascara really enhanced my lashes in both length and fullness and didn’t flake. I have repurchased this several times since and I would say this is probably my second all time favorite mascara (after Diorshow).
6. Lastly, Lancôme makes an awesome eye makeup remover. I take eye makeup removal VERY seriously. I always, always, always was the girl who would take off all of her makeup before going to bed no matter what. However, in the last 6 months or so I would take it mostly off, but I was just using Micellar water to take off my eye makeup. Apparently, it didn’t take it all off that well and I actually ended up with a sty that got infected and I had to wear my glasses for a month before it fully healed. 🙁 It was AWFUL. So never again will I be lackadaisical about removing eye makeup. Wal-Mart Equate brand actually makes a decent one and so does Neutrogena, but if you want to spring for the good stuff, then Lancôme is it.
Happy Shopping and let me know what your favorites are from Lancôme!
So since today is the last day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’m thoroughly pooped from looking over that site, it’s time to move on to other retailer’s sales such as Gap!
Now through tomorrow (8/6), Gap is holding a Friends & Family Event with 40% off all items and free shipping no minimum (Code: FRIENDS) and take an extra 10% off (Code: BEST)
Here are my top picks:
First up, I love all of those graphic tees that say “weekend” or “coffee”, etc. I’m totally into that trend so I love that Gap offers not only t-shirts but also sweatshirts and sleep shirts that detail my current state of mind.
Jackets are one of my most favorite items to buy. I really don’t think that you can ever have too many – especially when you live in New England…the weather is so fickle!
The only denim jacket that I currently own is one in a regular darker denim wash that is from 2003! I think it is safe to say that this grey one would be an excellent wardrobe update.
A classic black tote is always in style and I love the leopard interior.
This jersey cap is perfect for those days that you just can’t even deal with your hair. #everydaybasically
Gap Fit workout leggings are awesome. They stay up and lasted me a solid year of working out in them weekly. Just be sure to wash cold and line dry! I love this pair.
And lastly, it is still blazing out and Gap still has tons of bathing suits. This striped one is super cute!
And don’t forget that Gap makes some of the best underwear and who can’t use some fresh pairs in their life?!
Hi! So considering that one of my most favorite (and longest!) wish lists is for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I have decided that my first blog post should be about what I ordered and what I hope to get next year that I missed out on!
I’ve wanted a one these nano puff jackets for years, but I never pulled the trigger because I have a perfectly fine long black North Face jacket that I have worn for several winters. However, this year I told myself that it had been enough years of me wearing this same drab thing and the time had come for me to order the short nano puff style. I was super annoyed because I literally ordered this jacket in Pesto (gorgeous green shade) and Black on day 1 of the sale at around 2pm AND THEN I got an email from Nordstrom saying the Pesto was sold out! And thus began a frustrating process of several items that I wanted to purchase being sold out. I guess the economy is booming because everyone be buying everything. 😉 Anyhoo – long story, short that weekend I went to the closest Nordstrom and found this jacket in grey in my size and got it. I actually do like the Grey but I still have Pesto on my mind and I am still deciding whether or not to return it and just pay more for Pesto once it is back in stock and the sale is over. I need some opinions plz.
Regarding the black, I did like it, but I have enough black jackets so I am in between the grey and pesto at this point.
No one really cares about socks, but these are actually the best socks ever for working out. They feature an extra cushion on the back of your ankle and WOW, what a difference. So comfy! So if you are in the market for new exercise socks – get these! Sadly, I got yet ANOTHER email from Nordstrom alerting me on Day 1 of the sale that these were sold out, but I managed to find them in store. They will definitely be back in stock after the sale ends.
The sale is always a great time to stock up on basic items like t-shirts so I got this tee in store in black and white. They are a slouchy fit at true to size. I sized down so that they are more fitted to tuck them in easily.
Speaking of basics, every year I order at least one new bra from the sale. This year I got 3!
I also ordered two long sleeve striped tee shirts by BP. These are my most favorite casual tees that you can dress up or down and I buy them every year. They best colors sell out very quickly and I got these in store.
Speaking of basics, every year I order at least one new bra from the sale. This year I got 3!
Normally the one new bra that I order from the sale is by Natori. I’ve been reading fashion blogs for years and this is a cult favorite for good reason. They truly make the most comfortable bra. I’ve tried a few different styles and all have been comfortable to wear all day. They are expensive so the sale is the best time to buy. It’s another item that sells out quickly in popular sizes so I ordered it early.
Since becoming a mom I’ve accumulated quite the sneaker collection since that’s basically my everyday footwear choice. I love the fact that these have a wedge and look a little more put together than my usual look! Sizing was TTS but they do run narrow.
Beauty
So at first I didn’t purchase any beauty items but then I started browsing the selection and ended up with a few products!
First up, this La Mer The Mini Miracles Collection set. This cream smells heavenly and honestly just feels luxurious and it comes in a glass jar which just ups the luxury factor! I had only tried mini sample packets of this cream because it is crazy expensive but this mini set is a good value and a perfect way to feel a little fancier every day!
I also ordered these Sigma Kabuki Brushes which I have yet to try because it’s been about 90 degrees everyday and I can’t be bothered to put on foundation and a full face of makeup in such heat!
For hair care I ordered this Alterna Caviar Shampoo & Conditioner value set. I love their hair care products, but they are expensive so this set was a good value and sold out pretty quickly.
The only other beauty/haircare product I purchased was this Oribe Gold Lust Set. I haven’t tried it out yet but another blogger that I like to read recommended it so we shall see!
I’ve purchased a couple of Patagonia fleeces for Blair in the past and I really think that they hold up well if you take care of them and launder correctly. The Nike set is adorable and at such a good price point.
And that’s all I have ordered!
What I missed out on:
Every year I have soooo many items that I wish I had purchased that sell out before I decide if I should pull the trigger or now. Here are three items that I am hoping come back next year or will just purchase at a higher price once they are restocked because I love them so much!
First up, this Barefoot Dreams “In the Wild” Throw. I think I have a slight blanket obsession. I’m forever spotting blankets that I want and it’s like how many blankets does one person actually need?! This one they have had out for a few years now and I’m obsessed with the original leopard print one. I’m thinking next year I really need to have this.
Keeping up with the Barefoot Dreams thread, next I was really eyeing this CozyChic Cardigan. I saw it in person in the store and I honestly thought I would never wear it out of the house because it looked too much like loungewear for the home only and for $80 that just seemed ridiculous to pay for something that I wouldn’t leave the house in. And yet I still kept adding it to my online cart! Luckily, it sold out in the only color I really wanted, but I’m thinking next year if they have it again and maybe in some different colors (I’m thinking Heather Grey would be nice), I might be sold on it.
Lastly, I have been wanting a white/cream/black plaid shirt for a while. I have in my head what the perfect one would look like, and I hadn’t been able to find it anywhere. However, This Leith Henley Woven Shirt is pretty close to what I had been envisioning. Sadly, it sold out the very first day of the sale and when I went to the store they didn’t have my size left. I loved it though and if it ever comes back, I’m definitely ordering!
That’s all for now! What are your favs from the sale? Thanks for reading 🙂
