I love how great the weather has been lately! It’s still chilly, but I don’t think anyone can about complain how much sun we have been getting. It’s been sunny nearly every day, which really just brightens up your mood!
I’m finally feeling so much better after this pesky cold!
Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite trends and that is the clear, acrylic, see-thru, etc. bag trend! This is really no surprise that I LOVE this trend because I totally had this Ralph Lauren Polo Sport clear tote back in 2001 that I got for a steal at T.J. Maxx and loved to wear in high school! Since I like mostly anything that takes me back down memory lane, I definitely had to get my hands on a clear bag this season!
I wore this outfit last week and snapped a quick picture because I wanted to talk about one of my favorite prints: camo! I’m really into this trend because I love a fun print and because olive green is one of my favorite colors to wear and I like that camo incorporates it in a different way. It’s been in style for a few years now and I’m happy that it is still going strong! I own a camo jacket, sweatshirt, and a bunch of t-shirts, but I’m thinking of adding the camo pants that I linked below to my camo collection!
I think some people are hesitant to wear camo because they think it looks much too military or is too bold, but it’s really not. I would recommend wearing it the same way that you wear leopard print. Using my outfit above as an example, I was wearing a camo print jacket so I toned down the rest of my outfit with basic neutrals (ie. a white tee & jeans.) I added a leopard print belt because it is a such a small amount of an additional print that it works and doesn’t make my outfit look overly busy. Mixing two large prints at one time can be tricky, so I would not recommend wearing camo print pants with a leopard print sweater!
If you are still thinking that camo print is too much for you, then perhaps you might like the camo print shoes that I linked below – they are really cute and a great way to incorporate the trend in a subtle manner!
You can shop any of the below images by simply clicking on them!
Are you into camo print too?! Let me know what you think of this trend in the comments!
Today I wanted to talk about the most ubiquitous belt trend around and that is the Gucci G belt. I remember talking about this in the fall when there was an article that I posted on my blog about the number one item flying off the shelves. I had linked a few other belts that looked a little similar and were probably design inspired by the original Gucci belt. I own one them from Nordstrom here.
Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite items in my closet: it’s the J.Crew Tippi Sweater and I own approximately 7 of these sweaters in a rainbow of colors! I’ve accumulated these over the years because I really, really love this sweater. And I’m not the only one – it definitely has a cult following and it was even talked about on Jeopardy! a few years ago when a contestant wore a different Tippi sweater every day until she lost! The following are my top reasons for loving this sweater:
Since Valentine’s Day is only a little more than a week away I wanted to share my favorite V*day themed items! Some are cheap and some not so cheap, but I like to showcase a wide price range of items. I also love to wear red or pink and look festive on the days leading up to Valentine’s Day (because I’m cheesy like that) and I just think it’s fun! Some of the items listed are things that I would buy to wear and some are things that I think would make great V*Day gifts! Let’s get to it!
I hope everyone’s work week is going by quickly! I was online browsing the other day (big surprise) and I noticed that J.Crew is already out with some really cute springtime pieces! I scanned them over and made a little collage of my favorites. I don’t know about you, but just looking at brightly colored springtime clothes makes me happier. I love winter and winter fashion, but I’m always excited once the temps start warming up. Each year I love to add some new spring styles into my wardrobe like these!
Leopard is such a fabulous print year round! This cardigan appears to be slightly lightweight making it purrrrfect (sorry, I had to) for when that warmer weather finally comes around! 😉
I LOVE THESE. I’m all about hoop earrings and crystal embellishments, so you put the two together and I am seeing all hearts! ♥♥♥ The hardest part for me will be trying to decide whether to buy the multicolor or the classic crystal. Decisions, decisions.
Wearing a brightly colored raincoat just makes a lousy weather day so much better! This yellow one is sure to garner looks and compliments alike! It also comes in 8 other fun colors!
To be honest, I really haven’t been huge on the fanny pack trend. I do own one, but it’s from the Hunter for Target collection and is very sporty looking, so I use it mostly for exercising outside. This one from J.Crew is a great fashionable option and I love that you can get it monogrammed.
I’m loving that button fly jeans are showing up everywhere lately! I need to get a pair and I love that these are also featured in a high rise and lighter wash which is perfect for wearing in warmer weather.
The color blocking and side buttons on this sweater make it so adorable! It is totally making me think of pink marshmallows and I love it. It’s a cashmere sweater and if pastels aren’t your thing, it is also offered in grey.
I’ve always loved tweed jackets, and I especially love this one with the subtle multicolored threading. It’s really a beautiful jacket, but way too expensive for my budget! J.Crew runs tons of sales all the time, but sadly I would need this to be 70% off in order for me to pull the trigger. But it’s still a gorgeous springtime piece!
Overall, I would say my favorites that I definitely want to order are the earrings and the jeans. I love the sweaters and coat, but I just got a new raincoat last year so I think I will hold off! What are you loving?! Let me know in the comments!
It’s Wednesday which means we are halfway through the week! 🙂 Today I’m sharing what I wore over the weekend in anticipation of what was supposed to be a “big snowstorm.” It was a total bust with mostly wind and rain BUT on the upside, I do have a new pair of snow boots that are still in pristine condition just begging to be used! 🙂 I had been eyeing these Sorel wedge boots since the fall and kept trying to find them on sale. They are a little bit cheaper on Amazon, but I could never find a true sale and eventually caved and ordered them from Zappos. I ordered a few different sizes to make sure I was getting the perfect fit since they are expensive. I would say that they run true to size. I ended up sticking with my usual size of 8.5, as the 8 was just a little too tight in the toe box. The 8.5 is a little roomy, but that’s good in case I ever want to wear really thick socks. I love the wedge on these winter boots since it makes them a bit more fashionable! You can wear them all the time and not look silly if it isn’t actually snowing out! Zappos offers them in a bunch of different colors and I love ordering from there because they offer free next day shipping and free returns AND when you do return, they credit back your card once UPS scans the return label which is so nice that you don’t even have to wait for the merchandise to get back to their facility before being credited! A+++
I hope everyone has had a great work week so far and now it’s almost the weekend!
Today I want to discuss the importance of festive outfits. Lately, I’ve been trying to wear all of my clothes that scream holiday in order to get the most use out of them. This means I am either wearing red, green, some plaid print, something sparkly, or a combination of them all! I’ve especially been applying this to my work wardrobe and literally everyday I hear a comment of how “festive” I look which I totally love since that is the whole look I’m going for! I don’t think there is a limit during the holidays of how much plaid or sequins someone should wear. Pile it on and do whatever you want!
