I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving!! And now we are all ready to partake in the most magical sale weekend of Black Friday through Cyber Monday! So today I’ll be sharing some of my picks from the best sales going on all weekend long!
Some retailers have the same sale all the way through Monday, while others have good sales now, but save the very best sale until Monday. I always read the teeny tiny fine print to be certain if this is the best deal the retailer will offer or if a new promo will be out on Cyber Monday.
It can be tough to know whether or not to hold off on ordering until Monday for fear that the best items might already be sold out. But, I typically hold off unless I really, really love something because it’s awful to not get the best deal and overpay!
I will be updating this list and adding new and more sales as the weekend goes on. Let me know what you think are the best deals and items in the comments!
It’s me, again! I meant to post this yesterday, but I ended up going to the mall so I decided to hold off so that I could add in some snaps from Old Navy in store.
Today I’m sharing some finds from Old Navy because their Thank You Event sale is going on! Through Sunday, 9/29, get 30% off online or in-store purchases or get 40% off if you are a Gap/Old Navy card member!
I’ve put together a cute fall outfit using all Old Navy items and it’s a great time to freshen up your Fall wardrobe with some new threads! So let’s get into it!
These soft, stretchy jacquard material blazers are awesome! So comfortable and not at all stiff, which makes wearing all day at the office a breeze! I purchased the houndstooth one because I loved the fall colors in it and because I already own a similar printed one in the grey plaid. The houndstooth one is mostly sold out online but you may be able to find in store, as they had several at the Old Navy I went to. The grey plaid one is still in stock online and is just as cute in person! Definitely a great buy for the Fall season.
You can’t really go wrong with high waisted skinny jeans! I’ve had pretty good luck with Old Navy’s sculpt jeans in terms of both fit and them holding up through multiple washes. I used to always purchase their Rockstar black jeggings, but the last two pairs I purchased I have not been pleased with. Both pairs immediately faded in color after the first wash and I always follow washing instructions on the label and hang dry! I’ve been super disappointed in the quality of the jeggings, so I would stick to the sculpt style and try these. Plus, the customer reviews are awesome!
This sleeveless top is down to only $7 with the current 30% off promotion! These tops are great for this time of the year; wear it under a blazer in the morning when it’s chilly and then wear it solo in the afternoon when the temps heat back up! Perfect for work or weekends and it’s fully in stock in 3 colors!
For under $30, you cannot beat the quality of Old Navy booties! I’ve had a few pairs over the years and I’ve always been shocked by how well they held up. I usually spend more more on brown or black booties that I’m going to wear all the time. Then get a pair from Old Navy in a trendier color that I would like to own, but know I won’t wear that much and therefore, do not want to spend a lot of money on. Old Navy does a light grey suede well and I would go with this color. I always feel that their faux black suede looks super cheap, but the grey colors always look good!
I would also like to point out that these glitter sneakers are adorable!
Today for my Friday Finds, I’m sharing some items that I recently purchased from H&M.
H&M has been one of my favorite stores ever since they arrived in the US back when I was in high school. They offer sooooo many different types of clothing – from casual, to work attire, to clubbing clothes (not like I need those these days, but it’s there!) I think they offer a great mix of trendy pieces and classic pieces and because of that, they are one store that I always frequent.
I started looking through their Fall collection weeks ago and fell in love with so many pieces. I placed an online order during Labor Day weekend because they were offering 30% off and free shipping! If you need to return anything from your online order, you can either ship it back (but they deducted a shipping label charge of something, say, $7) OR you can return in-store for free. This is what I always do because I don’t want to pay $7 and because their return window is kind of short. However, this usually ends up worse for me because I ALWAYS find something else to buy in store, thus negating any returns. But, such is life!
Today for my Friday Finds I’m sharing my top picks from the latest Target line dropping tomorrow, 9/14! It’s the Target: 20 Years of Design line featuring some of the best products (290 items!) they have had over the last 20 years of affordable designer collaborations!
So I was trying reallllyyy hard to not post TOO much Fall content since it really ISN’T actually Fall. BUT, I cannot help myself and I’m totally caught up in all the Fall brouhaha going on in stores!
So yesterday I went on a little Target trip. I needed a few items, but really I was just going to scope out the Fall merchandise. I follow tons of crazy Target fanatics on Instagram who go to Target every single day and post pictures of the latest merchandise and I was really DYING to go.
BUT, ALAS, I was super disappointed. A lot of these Instagrammers live in cool places like California, or in uncool places – like Arizona, BUT at least in Arizona the Target stores seem to be on the ball with new items and the stores look fully stocked.
Unlike here, where I found a few stray pumpkins in the dollar section (don’t worry I bought them all! lol) and a large empty seasonal space where the Back to School stuff had been emptied out, but nothing Fall-ish had yet to hit the shelves. #lame
In my highly professional retail shopper opinion, that seasonal merchandise switch-over should be an overnight change. There should never be a whole huge section of the store with no product in it! I mean, don’t they realize there are millions of women just dying to buy all of their somewhat cute/somewhat tacky/somewhat cheap Fall themed decor!?
Ok – enough of my rant. Although the store was a bit of a disappointment, I did get a few items. And I have also seen other items online that I really like and am waiting to see how they look IRL. The one issue I have with a lot of Target merchandise is how cute it looks online, but then in person looks so cheaply made that it may fall apart within 5 minutes. SO while I anxiously await the Fall display in stores, I am sharing the few darling finds that I have seen below!
1. Fall Cardigans
A couple of weeks ago I saw this sweater on Instagram and knew it was a Madewell cardigan dupe. I liked it but kind of forgot about it and now, the burgundy color-block one is almost completely sold out! 🙁 This comes in a variety of colors though – so a lot of the other colors are still in stock!
This Madewell cardigan was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and sold out really quickly.
The good news is that although this Target cardigan is showing sold out in a few colors online and in stores, I believe the store inventory is incorrect. At the store yesterday, I saw tons of these in stock in most colors – just not the burgundy stripe.
The quality appeared to be pretty good – especially for $28! This would be a great addition to your Fall wardrobe! AND if you happen to spot the burgundy color-blocked one in a size small, please pick it up for me! 😉
2. Fall Themed Food
Everyone goes bonkers for a limited edition food item (myself included) and I love browsing the aisles for seasonal food favorites. Since I love candy corn, yesterday I picked up some Archer Farms Candy Corn Crunch Trail Mix! I haven’t tried it yet, but it contains honey-roasted peanuts, candy corn, raisins, and white chocolate pretzel balls. I’ll be sampling soon and will include in my upcoming September food reviews!
Another item I picked up was this My/Mo Mochi pumpkin spice ice cream.
I’ve been curious about these My/Mo Mochi ice cream treats for awhile, so I decided now was the time to try since they had just released this seasonal version. (Side note: I just checked my receipt and these are a whopping $4.50!! You only get 6 pieces, so this price is a bit high.)
I tried this immediately when I got home from the store. If you haven’t ever tried these, it’s basically an ice cream ball covered in a mochi dough – so you can eat it in your hands. I read that mochi dough is from Japan and to me, this is sort of an Asian twist on the American ice cream treat classic: The Bon Bon. Speaking of, where are Bon-Bons these days, anyway?! I can never find them. BRING BACK THE BON BONS. Because I really want to say “I was sitting around eating bon bons all day” and literally mean it!
Anyway, back to the mochi ice cream! So the pumpkin ice cream was really good with a solid nutmeg/graham cracker/cinnamon/ginger snap taste! This mochi dough though…. ehhhh, maybe I need to try it again. It was basically like eating raw dough – like if you ever made a pie crust from scratch (my mother is very into this) and then ate some of the pie dough raw. It was just ok with a bland dough flavor, but it was also a weird consistency to eat. It reminded me of eating chicken skin – like if you bought a rotisserie chicken and ate JUST a big chuck of skin with no chicken. Which, I don’t know, maybe some people are into that and not me?!
However, I would recommend trying these just because it’s definitely an interesting take on ice cream and it’s kind of cool?! Plus, the pumpkin ice cream is very tasty! If you try it, let me know what you think!
3. The Fall Dollar Spot
Even though the dollar spot in my Target definitely needed to be restocked, I did manage to get a couple of really cute items.
The plaid pumpkin is definitely my favorite! For $3, it’s a super cute little addition!
Next to the plaid pumpkin is a mini foam pumpkin. They offered a bunch of different colors in the foam pumpkins which make for cute decorations and all are only $1!
At first I was like sequin pumpkins?! Who even thought of this?? But then I was, like – I kind of love this….and it was only a $1, so you know I obviously bought one! They came in a few different colors of sequins, but I thought the black looked the best. The only issue is that this pumpkin won’t sit on its own!
4. Other Fall Decor
So since the Fall display in store was not yet updated, I haven’t seen tons of new items. But I did spy this plaid chaironline and wish I had a spare $300 for it. So cute!
If you are into leopard print then you should check out Target’s handbag and accessories department. This spotted wallet is only $14.99!
In the junior’s section, they also had in the some Halloween themed clothing and I love a good pumpkin shirt! In this case, it’s a winking pumpkin face and it’s adorable!
I’m wearing a size Large here which is what I usually wear in the Junior’s section if I want a casual, slightly loose fit.
That’s all for my finds! Have you been to Target lately to scope out the Fall selection?!
For this week, I decided to do something a little different and not post clothes or accessory deals. I’m changing it up and I’m sharing five different articles/videos/stuff from around the web that I watched or read this week and wanted to share!
1. First up – I found a new funny person who makes videos and uploads them to Facebook & YouTube! I stumbled across this video of14 Things Americans Are Obsessed With and I was giggling away! Markian, is the creator of the videos and he’s pretty funny! He has tons of videos and they are along the same lines as Trey Kennedy’s, but a little different. Some of them I didn’t really get because I think they are geared towards a slightly younger generation, but a bunch of them definitely made me laugh. Check out all of his videos here and before you know it you will be watching for 30 minutes before work and be late! Oops!
This Phillip Lim bag IS MINE – the question is: what ungodly hour will I have to wake up to snag this right when it goes live before it sells out in 5 minutes?!
3. I found this article about Amelia Earhart fascinating. Partially because I cannot believe that there is a whole team of people devoted to figuring this craziness out with her bones when she vanished over 80 years ago and also because the crabs mentioned ARE TERRIFYING. Literally the stuff my nightmares are made of! I can handle hermit crabs or maybe a small crab at the beach, but these coconut crabs up to potentially 3 FEET IN LENGTH?!?!!? OMG I would die. Did I mention these crabs can climb trees? Which is both impressive and horrifying at the same time.
4. This week on my Instastories I featured a floppy disk coaster that my coworker gave to me! It’s so 90s so I totally love it! I did some googling and found them on Amazon here and here. It would make a great gift for the 90s lover in your life!
5. The summer Sephora VIB event is going on! Rouge members get 20% off and VIBs get 15% off their purchase through Tuesday, 8/27. All the details are here! This is a great time to stock up on your favorites and maybe try something new. I will be sharing my picks on Monday so be sure to check back then!
I don’t know about you, but I’m one of those people who gets 8,000 emails a day and lately I’ve been getting a lot of emails about Fall. Fall merchandise is already in stores and Dunkin’ already has pumpkin coffee out in certain stores! It’s kind of crazy, but that’s reality in the retail world. And while I’m not quite ready yet for summer to end, I do love Fall and I am looking forward to wearing all of my Fall clothing & accessories!
So with that being said, I’m using today’s edition of Friday Finds to showcase five new items out this Fall that I’ve got my eye on!
