Hi All,

Today I wanted to talk about the most ubiquitous belt trend around and that is the Gucci G belt. I remember talking about this in the fall when there was an article that I posted on my blog about the number one item flying off the shelves. I had linked a few other belts that looked a little similar and were probably design inspired by the original Gucci belt. I own one them from Nordstrom here.

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of myself in this Nordstrom belt on Instagram and I got a few DMs from people asking if I was wearing a real Gucci belt. Which first of all, ok it was mostly guys inquiring, but let’s be clear the Gucci belt has a G on the belt buckle, not circles! Second of all, at this point in my life no, I’m not spending $450 on a belt! I mean unless I hit the lottery, in which case, I’m definitely spending $450 on a belt!! 😉

Me – not wearing a Gucci belt
Me again – Gucci free

It’s kind of funny because at the time I was getting the questions, I had actually placed an order on Amazon a few days earlier for a knockoff Gucci belt and was awaiting its arrival! Here is the belt I ordered:

Or you can click here. I took a gamble ordering it since I feel like you really never know what you are going to get ordering off of Amazon. (Also, side note that at the time I ordered it – it was $30, not $24.99!) I was actually really dumb the first time and ordered the wrong size. I think I was looking solely at the estimated waist measurements in parentheses and ordered the smallest size, which totally doesn’t make sense considering I’m not the most petite thing ever. So anyway then I had to order another one, but it surprisingly arrived only two days later! The first one took about a week to arrive. The belt quality, overall, I think is really good. It doesn’t look cheap, the leather is in good shape and doesn’t look fake, and the metal hardware looks to be decent quality – especially for $30! Comparing the two different ones that I received, the “G” buckle was a bit bigger on the larger size belt, but otherwise I couldn’t see any noticeable differences. The belt comes with a handy metal gadget for punching out additional holes in you need them. The size I ordered was the 110 cm (I’m typically a size 6 or 8 in jeans or 28/29) which is in stock for the brown color. The in stock fluctuates quite frequently so I would just keep checking the site if you want the black one or take a gamble by ordering from another seller!

The belt arrived nicely wrapped and with this metal thing for punching additional holes.

Do I think it’s lame to order a knockoff designer belt? Sort of. But I also think it’s kind of lame to spend $450 on a belt, even if you’re rolling in dough. I really like the style and think it makes my outfit look cuter, more put together, and adds a touch of pizzazz! All that matters is that you wear what you like. If you like the trend, then I would highly recommend this Amazon dupe!
