Hi All!

So I was trying reallllyyy hard to not post TOO much Fall content since it really ISN’T actually Fall. BUT, I cannot help myself and I’m totally caught up in all the Fall brouhaha going on in stores!

So yesterday I went on a little Target trip. I needed a few items, but really I was just going to scope out the Fall merchandise. I follow tons of crazy Target fanatics on Instagram who go to Target every single day and post pictures of the latest merchandise and I was really DYING to go.

BUT, ALAS, I was super disappointed. A lot of these Instagrammers live in cool places like California, or in uncool places – like Arizona, BUT at least in Arizona the Target stores seem to be on the ball with new items and the stores look fully stocked.

Unlike here, where I found a few stray pumpkins in the dollar section (don’t worry I bought them all! lol) and a large empty seasonal space where the Back to School stuff had been emptied out, but nothing Fall-ish had yet to hit the shelves. #lame

In my highly professional retail shopper opinion, that seasonal merchandise switch-over should be an overnight change. There should never be a whole huge section of the store with no product in it! I mean, don’t they realize there are millions of women just dying to buy all of their somewhat cute/somewhat tacky/somewhat cheap Fall themed decor!?

Ok – enough of my rant. Although the store was a bit of a disappointment, I did get a few items.  And I have also seen other items online that I really like and am waiting to see how they look IRL. The one issue I have with a lot of Target merchandise is how cute it looks online, but then in person looks so cheaply made that it may fall apart within 5 minutes. SO while I anxiously await the Fall display in stores, I am sharing the few darling finds that I have seen below!

1. Fall Cardigans

A couple of weeks ago I saw this sweater on Instagram and knew it was a Madewell cardigan dupe. I liked it but kind of forgot about it and now, the burgundy color-block one is almost completely sold out! 🙁 This comes in a variety of colors though – so a lot of the other colors are still in stock!

Target A New Day Colorblock Cardigan

Madewell Colorblock Cardigan (sold-out)

This Madewell cardigan was part of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and sold out really quickly.

The good news is that although this Target cardigan is showing sold out in a few colors online and in stores, I believe the store inventory is incorrect. At the store yesterday, I saw tons of these in stock in most colors – just not the burgundy stripe.

The quality appeared to be pretty good – especially for $28! This would be a great addition to your Fall wardrobe! AND if you happen to spot the burgundy color-blocked one in a size small, please pick it up for me! 😉

2. Fall Themed Food

Everyone goes bonkers for a limited edition food item (myself included) and I love browsing the aisles for seasonal food favorites. Since I love candy corn, yesterday I picked up some Archer Farms Candy Corn Crunch Trail Mix! I haven’t tried it yet, but it contains honey-roasted peanuts, candy corn, raisins, and white chocolate pretzel balls. I’ll be sampling soon and will include in my upcoming September food reviews!

Another item I picked up was this My/Mo Mochi pumpkin spice ice cream.

I’ve been curious about these My/Mo Mochi ice cream treats for awhile, so I decided now was the time to try since they had just released this seasonal version. (Side note: I just checked my receipt and these are a whopping $4.50!! You only get 6 pieces, so this price is a bit high.)

I tried this immediately when I got home from the store. If you haven’t ever tried these, it’s basically an ice cream ball covered in a mochi dough – so you can eat it in your hands. I read that mochi dough is from Japan and to me, this is sort of an Asian twist on the American ice cream treat classic: The Bon Bon. Speaking of, where are Bon-Bons these days, anyway?! I can never find them. BRING BACK THE BON BONS. Because I really want to say “I was sitting around eating bon bons all day” and literally mean it!

An American 90s classic!

Anyway, back to the mochi ice cream! So the pumpkin ice cream was really good with a solid nutmeg/graham cracker/cinnamon/ginger snap taste! This mochi dough though…. ehhhh, maybe I need to try it again. It was basically like eating raw dough – like if you ever made a pie crust from scratch (my mother is very into this) and then ate some of the pie dough raw. It was just ok with a bland dough flavor, but it was also a weird consistency to eat. It reminded me of eating chicken skin – like if you bought a rotisserie chicken and ate JUST a big chuck of skin with no chicken. Which, I don’t know, maybe some people are into that and not me?!

Good ice cream, strange dough covering.

However, I would recommend trying these just because it’s definitely an interesting take on ice cream and it’s kind of cool?! Plus, the pumpkin ice cream is very tasty! If you try it, let me know what you think!

3. The Fall Dollar Spot

Even though the dollar spot in my Target definitely needed to be restocked, I did manage to get a couple of really cute items.

The plaid pumpkin is definitely my favorite! For $3, it’s a super cute little addition!

Next to the plaid pumpkin is a mini foam pumpkin. They offered a bunch of different colors in the foam pumpkins which make for cute decorations and all are only $1!

At first I was like sequin pumpkins?! Who even thought of this?? But then I was, like – I kind of love this….and it was only a $1, so you know I obviously bought one! They came in a few different colors of sequins, but I thought the black looked the best. The only issue is that this pumpkin won’t sit on its own!

The dishtowels were $3 and who doesn’t love getting a getting a one every year to spruce up their kitchen?

Love these pumpkin shaped appetizer plates!

These wine glasses! So basic and great!

4. Other Fall Decor

So since the Fall display in store was not yet updated, I haven’t seen tons of new items. But I did spy this plaid chair online and wish I had a spare $300 for it. So cute!

And I’m loving this faux fur ottoman!

It also comes in white and is only $75!

I could really use a new harvest looking wreath, too, so I’m hoping they have some good options in store the next time I go.

5. The Women’s Section

The women’s section is chock full of cooler weather wardrobe essentials like sweaters and cardigans, as I mentioned in point #1. The animal print sweaters are all really nice, too.

If you are into leopard print then you should check out Target’s handbag and accessories department. This spotted wallet is only $14.99!

In the junior’s section, they also had in the some Halloween themed clothing and I love a good pumpkin shirt! In this case, it’s a winking pumpkin face and it’s adorable!

I’m wearing a size Large here which is what I usually wear in the Junior’s section if I want a casual, slightly loose fit.

That’s all for my finds! Have you been to Target lately to scope out the Fall selection?!

I hope y’all have a great weekend!

xo
